This specialty water lily cake I made for a class I took about gumpaste. The cake might look a bit crowded but I tried to implement so many of the new techniques I learned. To cover the cake I marbled a lighter and a darker shade of yellow fondant and added a stencil patterned border. There is a little keep sake box that can be used not just as cake decoration because gumpaste dries hard.
For the water lilies I layered different sizes of daisy cut-outs and added a lot of curve with a ball tool. In the close-up you can see that the centers are dusted in golden yellow and whole flower is given a shimmer with pearl dust.
