Last week, I talked about cherry blossoms as sure sign of the arrival of Spring. Another sign of the spring season is the start of the wedding season! For someone like me, who loves to bake and cook, this is an exciting time of year!
Admittedly, weddings are happening all year round (our December wedding was the best example) but in the Northern hemisphere couples definitely, prefer the warmer months of Spring and Summer.
The cupcake trend for weddings is still going strong. Many couples have opted for cupcakes rather than the traditional wedding cake for a various number of reasons. Cupcakes tend to be cheaper, they can be made in a variety of flavors, they’re less wasteful and they’re just more fun to eat, aren’t they? The options to customize them to your theme, color and flavor preferences are endless, thus, making them a more fun and delicious choice for a wedding! They can also be decorated with the very obvious wedding theme.
For that I created these bride & groom cupcake toppers!
The bride is “wearing” a simple and elegant white dress with a structured pearl border. A large red flower is the main focal point.
The groom is “wearing” a traditional black & white tuxedo with a matching red flower boutonniere.
These bridal cupcake toppers are now also available in my Etsy store with options to customize skin or flower colors.

Common Questions
Cupcake toppers can be made from various materials such as fondant, gum paste, edible paper, or even plastic. They are typically crafted to complement the theme or design of the event, such as weddings, birthdays, or other special occasions.
Cupcake toppers usually vary in size depending on the design and purpose. They are often designed to be proportionate to the size of the cupcakes, typically ranging from around 1 inch to 3 inches in height or width. However, the specific size may depend on the overall aesthetic and design preferences.
When it comes to using paper for cupcake toppers, it’s essential to choose a sturdy and food-safe material. Cardstock and edible paper are popular choices for creating durable and safe cupcake toppers. Edible paper made from materials like rice or wafer paper is particularly suitable for designs that can be consumed along with the cupcakes.
To ensure that cupcake toppers remain intact and undamaged during transportation or storage, it is essential to package the cupcakes carefully. One way to do this is by using cupcake boxes that provide ample space for the toppers without squishing or smudging them.
Additionally, securing the cupcakes in the box with inserts or liners can help prevent any shifting or movement that may cause damage to the toppers.
