I am not sure what a truffle has to consist of to be classified as such, but I like to call these little treats cake truffles. They are a smaller bite-size version of the cake pop served in a small wrapper.
I used vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and dipped them in milk chocolate. I also had marble cake which I mixed with raspberry frosting (no marble to see after mixing, only light brown chocolate cake) which I dipped in white chocolate. Decoration again is a chocolate drizzle. Simple, but elegant, especially when using a contrasting coloured chocolate.
