For the occasion of my dad’s 50th birthday I created this two-tiered cake with tool decorations. I wanted to add a personal touch to the cake and as he is a carpenter the idea for tool-shaped fondant cutouts came.
The top tier is almond sour cream cake with apricot fruit filling, the bottom a chocolate fudge cake with raspberry and lemon filling. The whole cake is iced in cream cheese buttercream and covered in fondant.
The dark and light blue stripes and pearl border match the decoration for the party.
